ANTERA WHEELS
World Winning Designer
Enthusiasts looking for light alloy road wheels are after something unique - attractive, exciting forms matched by unbeatable levels of quality and safety. Marco Muzzarelli was searching for precisely the same thing and that's why, back in 1991, he founded ANTERA: to create an elite range of road wheels that would stand out from the crowd. ANTERA took on the established manufactures and set new standards in alloy wheel design and production. Moving away from accepted concepts and ideas, ANTERA defined the style of a decade and continues to be the reference. By the way, the brands name ANTERA derives from the latin term ante era and means ahead of the times. The guiding idea of the company's philosophy - the pursuit of perfection - remained valid until today and is reflected in all developments.
ANTERA's first ever wheel launched the original soft-line style and marked a new era in alloy wheel design. The Type 101 was an instant success; its appeal guaranteed by the way rim and spokes integrated smoothly, creating harmony in form and function. With this benchmark wheel ANTERA swept aside conventional trends and went their own way, providing levels of design and quality that are rarely equaled. The Type 101 was to be followed by ever more dynamic designs with the expressive lines and unmistakable style and identity of the ANTERA marque. And over the years, ANTERA's wheels have won numerous accolades from critics, culminating in 1994 with the title of "Alloy Wheel Design of the Year" for the Type 109 three-spoke.
At its launch, the Type 109 created a stir. It was the first truly harmonious and balanced three-spoke wheel, and it took the market by storm. The 109's striking looks have made it a contemporary classic in every sense. In 1994, ANTERA received the award "Alloy Wheel Design of the Year" for design excellence of this wheel type. Today it still ranks among the most memorable wheel designs in the history of alloy wheel design.
Another novelty was the completely under the center hub cap hidden, integrated air valve, routing the air through a channel in one of the spokes into the tire. This innovation led to a completely uninterrupted, balanced surface of the rim. Even at that time, the wheel was already available in sizes up to 10 x 18 inch.
